The Mission of Helotes Hills United Methodist Church is to grow and nurture disciples of Jesus Christ for the Transformation of our community and the world

Helotes Hills United Methodist Church has been blessed to pack 2350 shoe-box gifts for Samaritan’s Purse’s Operation Christmas Child since we began participating in 2006.  We collect gift boxes from the congregation and adult and children’s groups in the season leading up to Christmas.  Operation Christmas Child then distributes these shoe-boxes full of love and gifts to children in over 100 countries all over the world.

 

In 2017, Samaritan's Purse distributed over eleven million shoe-box gifts.  These gifts are handed directly to children who may never in their lives have received a gift.  They are packed with prayer for the recipient child and distributed with love in the name of Jesus Christ.  They are delivered by airplane, boat, camel, yak, and elephant along with the gospel message.  Children and their families are introduced to the Gospel of Christ along with a gift that shows that they are loved.  We are grateful to be participating in the Great Commission in this act of giving.
