Wherever you are in your Adult journey, you are never too old to keep learning. Christ encouraged us to be life-long learners, growing in our faith for eternity. To gather together with others and to dive into applying the Word of God in our lives. He encourages us to seek peace and understanding in all circumstances, to learn to let go and give the reigns to God, and to spend time in his Word until we know it as well as we know our own names.
Maybe you are just starting out in your faith journey and are looking for others to walk with you and guide you. Maybe you've grown up in the church but have never really taken the words you hear every week to heart. Maybe you are in the midst of the biggest struggle in your life. Maybe your Beacon is burning brightly or maybe it's burned out. Find your fuel with us.

Journey 101
When we give our lives to Jesus Christ and commit to follow him, we embark on a life-long journey of knowing, loving, and serving God. Journey 101 is a course designed to help guide us on this journey as we learn what it means to live as a disciple of Jesus. Regardless of where you are along your life pathway, Journey 101 will help you to deepen and enrich your spiritual walk and understand better what it means to be a Christian in the world today.
This 18 week study is divided into 3 parts: Knowing God, Loving God, and Serving God. There is no reading homework outside of class; all discussions are class-centered and revolve around a basic curriculum and 3 brief videos during each session. You will be asked to purchase a guide book which will allow for note-taking and personal reflection during the course. This course has been offered multiple times at Helotes Hills and has been extremely popular with those who have enrolled. Journey 101 is one of the recommended first steps along the Helotes Hills UMC Discipleship Pathway.
Grace Class
The moniker, Grace Class, wonderfully expresses our Christian reliance of God's unending, saving love. The Hebrew word used for grace is most often translated as "loving-kindness." John talks about our receiving "grace upon grace" (John 1:16). Paul tells us to give grace away through our words, "...so that your words may give grace to those who hear." (Eph. 4:29) Tough name to live up to but the Holy Spirit never stops teaching us.
Our class loves to laugh, pray, and support each other and we are missions oriented. We tend toward books that use scripture and story to guide us to a deeper understanding and expression of our Christianity. All visitors of any adult age are welcome. Grace class meets Sunday mornings from 10:00 to 10:50 a.m. in the Education Building.
PathFinders
The Pathfinders is an adult class that gathers to study, discuss, listen, and learn. We have taken on studies with topics as varied as the book of Revelation, to the world’s religions. We look for studies that are bible-based with thought provoking discussions. Come join our class of devoted, fun-spirited couples and singles who offer fellowship and prayer support to one another. We use a team-teaching format to delve into Bible study and Christian books as we strive to understand God’s word in today’s world and how it guides our lives. The Pathfinders meet on Sunday mornings from 10:00 to 10:50 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall.
Coffee, Kids and Life
Coffee, Kids, and Life is a Sunday School gathering of parents who share the joys and challenges of raising children today. Our group offers a wealth of support from shared wisdom to simple “parent hacks” for young families navigating and thriving in today’s ever changing world. Simply put – families today can be bombarded with challenges from all directions. We believe that you are the expert on your child, and we want to offer you support and confidence-building tools, along with the shared joys and parent humor that are often overlooked or taken for granted in today’s hectic world.
So, whether you are looking for a much needed “adult conversation” break with like-minded caring parents, or you would benefit from a genuine listening ear or sounding board, or would simply enjoy sharing funny parenting stories - check out the Coffee, Kids, and Life gathering each Sunday from 10:00 to 10:50 a.m. in the Education Building.
Holy Yoga
Holy Yoga embraces the essential elements of yoga: breath work, meditation and physical postures. In all of these elements, Christ is the focus of our intention and worship.
Each session opens in prayer, and while Christian music is played, relaxation, stretching and yoga poses are practiced. Each session closes in meditation, with a brief devotional and prayer. Classes are for beginners to intermediate. Classes are 100% Jesus. The poses can be modified according to each individuals physical needs. This is your time to meet one-on-one with Jesus on the mat in a loving environment.
All are welcome. A mat and comfortable clothes are all that is needed. Regular classes are held Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. and Chair Yoga is offered on Mondays at 10:45 a.m. All classes are held in the Fellowship Hall.
Tuesday Ladies Bible STudy
Because hearing God's word once a week is never enough!
Join us every Tuesday in the Fellowship Hall for a time of Bible Study, discussion and plenty of friendship. All ladies with an interest to deepen their faith while walking with their sisters in Christ are invited. All that is needed is an open heart and a willing spirit. Tuesdays at 10:00 am. in the Education Building.

Just For Guys
God wants us to enjoy life to the fullest! We are meant to find joy in all good things He offers. Just for Guys is a group that meets on the third Thursday of each month for fellowship, Bible study and a meal. Meetings take place on campus or at private homes and are open to all guys who would like to join! So, bring your own meet to throw on the grill and join us to explore all that God has to offer as you walk though life with him.
