Music

"Oh come, let us sing to the Lord; let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation!"

Psalm 95:1

Helotes Hills is blessed to have an excellent music ministry department that offers anyone with a heart for music the opportunity to use their skills, to explore an interest, or to just sit back and enjoy the gift of beautiful music produced regularly by our choir, praise team, or hand bell choir. The adult choir, hand bell choir, and praise team regularly participate in Sunday morning worship services on a rotating schedule, and in all special services such as Christmas and Easter.

Our music family is filled with persons who are passionate in their love of music and wish to share that passion with others. If you would like more information about how you can be a part of the well-supported and always growing music ministry of Helotes Hills United Methodist Church, contact Kathy Brock, Director of Music Ministry though out church office at office@hhumc.com. Experience is not necessary, just a genuine love of music!

Purely Praise Band

Purely Praise Band

Purely Praise Band performs at all our regular services and is featured twice a month.  They also perform for our popular occasional outdoor services. They sing many of the current songs heard on Christian radio stations and are always interested in talented musicians who wish to share their love of music and their instrumental or vocal gifts.

Spirit's Voice Choir

Spirit's Voice Choir

The Helotes Hills adult choir is composed of spirited youth and adults who love to sing praise to the Lord through a wide variety of musical selections including classical, gospel, contemporary, and spirituals. The choir rehearses each Wednesday evening in the sanctuary from 6:45 to 8:00 p.m. in preparation for participation in worship twice a month. The choir not only sings together joyously but also plays together joyously because making music makes friends and it’s FUN! If you like to sing, you are invited to give choir a try - prior singing experience is nice but not necessary.

Glory Ringer

Glory Ringers

The Glory Ringers Handbell Choir, under the direction of Richard Flores, meets on Wednesdays from 8:00 to 9:00 p.m., September through May in the music room. The group rings for both services of worship on a monthly basis and is open to all interested youth and adults. Music reading ability is an asset but not a requirement.  Join the fun!
