Ages 5 years to 5th grade
Here at Helotes Hills, we believe children are our greatest hope for the future and we celebrate the excitement, joy, life, and light they bring to our church family. We see the light shining brightly in each and every child and we want to do everything we can to encourage that light, protect it, and let it grow, so that it will one day be a bright beacon of its own.
We have experienced - and continue to experience - the joy and wonder that children explore their world with and are continually amazed at their ability to learn and to teach. We believe that children should share in worship and be encouraged to find ways of worshiping and praising God that works for them. We strive every week to provide fulfilling and meaningful ways for these energetic, bright - and sometimes loud - sparks to turn into beacons for Christ.

Our top priority is the health and safety of all participants and staff. We will strive to maintain "social distancing" during worship in the form of place markers on the floor to ensure kiddos give each other personal space. Please keep children with fevers or cold-like symptoms at home.
Spark Worship is a worship service designed just for Elementary kids on Sunday mornings at 10:00 a.m. Held in the HillCity Kids classroom located at the end of the hallway in the Education Building, Spark Worship will include common worship songs, hymns and basic readings to create a worshipful atmosphere that will help children feel more included when transitioning into regular worship. Held during adult worship, each Sunday will include:
Music - 15 minutes - Time to worship and praise God with song and dance
Message - 15 minutes - Time to expand on the scripture verse used in the Children's Sermon
Move - 15 minutes - quick activity, craft or take home to apply message to life
HillCity Kids Shine
HillCity Kids Shine is a combined Sunday School class for children ages 5 years to 5th grade. Held from 9:00 to 9:50 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall, we explore what it means to be a follower of Christ in our daily lives. Shine further explores the scriptures being taught in Spark and seeks to tap into a child's sense of wonder with their world around them. Every Sunday we use a story, activity and open discussion to give children the opportunity to process and explore the ideas and concepts presented to them through the week's Bible Story. We ask the question "how can we apply this to our lives?' and learn to pray by sharing prayer requests categorized into simple terms- help, sorry, praise, and thanks - and then praying for each other. Parents are encouraged to ask their children what they prayed for that week and continue to encourage an open conversation with God.
Kids Parties
Every kid – and every parent – deserves a night out every once in a while. Our Kid’s Parties are just that! Designed to be a fun night out for kiddos and a break for parents, every Kid’s Party is based on a scriptural theme and encourages exploration of the theme through fellowship with one another. Kids Parties are held 6 times a year and typically include games, crafts, free play, dinner, and plenty of sweet treats. They are free to attend and open to kiddos from Kinder to 5th grade. RSVP’s may be required to attend depending on the activities planned.
