"And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose."
The one certainty that no human can ignore, no matter their faith, is that time will always march on. We can fight it, or we can embrace it. Each year we are blessed to mark the passing of seasons with events in the life of our church family. These events serve to strengthen our church family through fellowship and service to our community and church. We hope that these events - and those yet to be - will bring us together in faith to shine our beacons as one light, one heart, one body in service to our God and King -- to shine in the darkness and spread the joy we receive from our Savior to those around us.
Easter Egg Hunt
Each spring we commemorate the highs of Holy Week with an egg hunt and morning of fun for the whole family. Held on Palm Sunday, we gather together between our normal services to share in fellowship while our children hunt for eggs, take pictures with the Easter Bunny, and hear the Easter Story. Children ages 2-11 are welcome to join in the hunt and families are encouraged to explore what our church is about and share in light refreshments.

Helotes Hills UMC has been involved with the Helotes Cornyval for thirty years! Occurring the first weekend in May at the Helotes Festival Association Fairgrounds in Helotes, Texas, this event highlights area non-profits as well as celebrates the founding of Helotes (which means “corn”). The church has a permanent booth for the festivities.
The booth volunteers offer prayer opportunities to visitors and extend invitations to church programs. The booth sells delicious chicken fajitas and the proceeds award scholarships to our high school seniors and also help finance mission trips. The remaining amount goes into the church's general fund or helps other mission endeavors. Volunteers sign up to work in the booth and share a great
spirit of Christian Fellowship while participating. Workers are instrumental in helping to spread the good news as they wait on customers who come by the booth. Everyone works very hard to ensure that the event is a success. It has been extremely successful the past several years. Many of the volunteers sign-up to help year after year, saying it is a fun and a fantastic way to share Christian comradeship and assisting to impact the lives of others.

In 2020 we explored "Wilderness Escape - Where God Guides and Provides" and followed the Israelite's through their Exodus from Egypt. Check our Vacation Bible School page often for announcements about our 2021 VBS!

Join us in 2020 for the 10th annual multi-faith Live Nativity re-enactment "Journey to Bethlehem." It is our gift to the people of Helotes and San Antonio and is held in Old Town Helotes.
The true meaning of Christmas began with the angel Gabriel's visit to Mary. We invite you to come and share this special moment with your family and then make the journey as we follow Mary and Joseph to Bethlehem and see some of the important events unfold as they might have been so many years ago.
Imagine--sitting on your grandparent's lap, hearing the story...
Watch as Mary is surprised by Gabriel, and then as she and Joseph eventually set off for Bethlehem.
See the shepherds as they witness the multitude of angels announcing the Holy Birth.
Don't miss King Herod sending the three Kings to find the baby.
Gather at the manger to share and celebrate the birth of our Savior.
This year, make this wonderful event a part of your Christmas traditions. Won’t you come celebrate and experience the true meaning of Christmas?
The 2020 Journey to Bethlehem Live Nativity will be held in Old Town Helotes. Dates to be announced.
