Blessing of the Backpacks and Teachers

It's almost that time of year when students and teachers return to the classroom. We want to make sure they return with the blessing of God and the prayers of this congregation.

On Sunday, August 9, we will celebrate a Blessing of the Backpacks and Blessing of the Teachers. Students from pre-school to college are invited to bring their backpacks, and we will pray over them as a congregation. We'll also have backpack tags to serve as a reminder of God's presence with our students.

Teachers, administrators, office workers, cafeteria employees, custodians, bus drivers, and school support staff — we want to pray over you as well. You bless our children every day, and we want you to begin the new year with God's blessing. Please join us, and consider bringing your family and friends.
